black teas
Black teas go through a long process of withering, rolling, frementing and firing before they mature as the final product. It is during fermentation that the flavor, color and body of a black tea develop. Black teas have the highest caffeine content of any tea.

Ceylon Supreme: Like Assam, Ceylon Supreme is a strong, dark tea, but with a more delicate flavor and aroma. The full body and bright flavor of Ceylon are extremely well-balanced.

Darjeeling FOP: Referred to as the "Champagne of Teas," Darjeeling is a product of the Indian Himalayas. It matures slowly, lending it a light, delicate flavor with a sweet, subtle aftertaste. Darjeeling is often used in English Breakfast blends.

English Breakfast Blend: Our English Breakfast is a blend of Darjeeling, Keemun and North China Congou teas which produce a dark cup, notable for its full body and rich aroma.

Iced Tea Blend: A hint of bergamot is added to Ceylon, Chinese and Indian teas to create the ideal blend for a refreshing glass of iced tea.

Irish Breakfast Blend CTC (Cut, Tear, Curl): Heartier than English Breakfast, Irish Breakfast combines the rich, malty flavor of Assam with highlights of brighter East African teas. It brews a strong, dark, full-bodied cup.

Keemun: This Chinese tea brews a full-bodied cup with a deep red color. Keemun has the unique, rich aroma of warm toast. It is sweet and fruity, and holds the distinction of being one of the few teas which actually improve with age.

Organic Assam Estate BOP: This classic Assam is slightly malty and has a rich, full body. It is delicious with milk or on its own.

Organic Nilgiri Blue Mountain: Grown in the Blue Mountains of southern India, Nilgiri has a bright flavor sililar to that of a Ceylon, but with the strength of an Assam. This combination produces an exceptionslly well-rounded cup - mellow and brisk, unrivaled in balance.

Russian Caravan: A small amount of Lapsang Souchong lends this blend of Chinese black teas its slightly smoky quality. Russian Caravan is full-bodied, dark, and very rich.

white teas
White teas are produced exclusively in China. Even richer in antioxidants than green teas, they are neither fermented nor rolled, which accounts for their fleshy whole-leaf appearance. White teas are even less processed than green teas; whole leaves and silvery buds are withered, then bake-dried. They have an even lower caffeine content than green teas.

Mutan White: Mutan is a first-grade Chinese white tea from Fujian province. It brews a pale yellow cup, with a slightly sweet flavor and none of the grassy overtones that are often associated with green tea.

green teas
Because they are not fermented, green teas have an exceedingly delicate flavor and body, as well as less than half the caffeine of black teas. Green teas contain large amounts of vitamin C, chlorophyll, and a variety of minerals which, due to fermentation, are not present in black teas.

Organic Makabari Estate: This delicate organic green tea from Darjeeling, India is grown to"biodynamic" standards, meaning that all aspects of the estate's environmental health, from its soil to its animals and insects, are taken into consideration in the tea's production. Makabari has a clean, bright flavor, with a medium body and distictly smooth finish.

Pinhead Gunpowder: Pinhead Gunpowder is named for both its grey-green color and the pellet-like shape of its rolled leaves. When steeped, its leaves unfurl to release a rich, subtle flavor and a body fuller than that of most green teas. The tightly rolled leaves give Pinhead Gunpowder its excellent keeping qualities.

scented teas
Earl Grey: Earl Grey is a blend of North China black teas and oil of bergamot. The bergamot is a Mediterranean citrus fruit whose rind yeilds an aromatic oil, used in both perfumes and tea. Earl Grey has a delicate aroma and distinctive flavor, and is perfect for afternoon tea.

Green Jasmine (green): This is a steamed (not pan-fired) green tea, scented with fresh jasmine flowers. Smooth and delicate, this is one of the subtlest and most exotic teas in the world.

Lapsang Souchong (black): Lapsang Souchong is like no other black tea. After its harvest in South China, it is cured with pine smoke, lending it an assertive flavor often likened to that of a fine Scotch whisky. Lapsanf Souchong produces a rich, heavy cup with a deep, smoky aroma.

oolong teas
Oolong teas are prepared in a similar fashion to black teas, but are given a very short withering period and are only partially oxidized. The green leaves are only allowed to turn partly brown before drying and, as a result, oolongs share some of the taste characteristics of both green and black teas. Oolong have less caffeine than black teas, but more than green teas.

China Oolong: This Oolong is extremely aromatic, with none of a black tea's bitterness or astringency. It is delicate yet lush, light yet rich, and fruitier than any other tea.

Herbal Tisanes
All of our herbal tisanes are made from natural products such as flowers, grasses, roots, fruits, bark, and variuos plant life. They are commonly referred to as teas, even though there are no leaves from the tea plant (Camellia sinensis) present in any of them. All are caffeine-free.

Chamomile: This soothing herbal tisane is made from the flowers of the chamomile plant. This is a good choice for a hot evening drink, with its slightly fruity aroma and very pale color. Many will recall Peter Rabbit, after his day of adventures, was sent to bed and served Chamomile by his mother; we also recommend this for a bed-time treat.

Orange Passion All-Fruit: This delightful herbal tisane consists of 100% fruit, and will give you the taste of summer all year long. It brews a very clean, bright, flavorful cup.

Organic Honeybush: Grown near the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, this herbal tisane, made from the leaves, stems, and flowers of the Cyclopia subternata plant, is virtually caffeine-free and has a naturally sweet, honey-like aroma. Sililar in properties to Rooibos, Honeybush has been heralded as a tonic for one's general health and well-being.

Organic Peppermint: This refreshing herbal tisane is made with fresh peppermint from the Pacific Northwest. Some say that a soothing cup of peppermint tea will help cure what ails you when you are not feeling well.

Organic Vanilla Cinnamon Rooibos: Often consumed to promote general health and well-being, this caffeine free antioxidant tea is blended with real vanilla bean and cinnamon for an exceptional taste experience.

Red Racer: A cup of this herbal tisane brews up to a pretty shade of red because of the colorful hibiscus, cherry bark, and rose hips. It has a slightly flowery aroma and a good fruity flavor.

Rooibos: Not a true tea, Rooibos is processed from the leaf of Aspalathus linearis and is 100% caffeine-free. This "miracle tea" is rich in antioxidants (more than any other beverage available), proteins, vital minerals, and vitamin C. It is also high in an agent called "SOD", which fights free radiculs that cause aging. Impoorted from South Africa, and often consumed to promote general health and well-being, Rooibos can be enjoyed hot or cold - with milk, lemon, sugar, or honey.

Strawberry Kiwi All-Fruit: This 100% fruit herbal tisane is wonderful - either as a hot drink, or iced in summer. It tastes just like fresh fruit from the garden.

Thai Lemon: Citrus flavor from lemon peel, lemon balm, lemon grass and lemon verbena all combine to brew up a refreshingly light, amber cup of herbal tisane.
